What Women Want
This film starring Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt was truly a delight. Gibson’s character is a typical male chauvinist who develops the ability to read women’s thoughts after a woman (Helen Hunt)
receives his job promotion.
In the beginning he uses this ability to cozy up to his new boss (Hunt) so that he can sabotage her career. Although he finds the plan is working well, he is also
discovering that he’s falling in love her. He is also struck with the knowledge that not everyone thinks he’s as great as he’s always thought they thought. He begins to relate to women on a level he had
never imagined.
The film is lighthearted and fun. There were scenes in the film where the women in the audience laughed, scenes where the men in the audience laughed and scenes in which everyone
laughed. I didn’t exactly like the ending - a little too predictable, but most movies are anymore.
I also don’t think it could have been near as good with any other actor - Mel Gibson really kept
the scenes flowing well. I was surprised afterwards to find out the movie was over 2 hours long. It seemed to go by really quick.
I would have to recommend seeing this film if you’re up for a good laugh.
