3000 Miles to Graceland

Starring: Kurt Russell, Kevin Costner, Courteney Cox
Distributed by Warner Brothers

3000 Miles to Graceland wasn’t exactly what I thought it would be from the previews I had seen. But I found it entertaining and enjoyable just the same.

Five con-men use an Elvis Impersonator convention in Las Vegas as a cover-up for a heist of the Riviera Casino. The action comes fairly early in the movie and is a hail of gun fire and spewing blood. After the heist, the chase for the money begins, and is the focus of the remainder of the film.

Courteney Cox was very good in her role as a single mother out for the dough. She had a much larger role in the movie than I had thought - and in my opinion, this is the best acting she has ever done. Kurt Russell was Kurt Russell and played a very good bad guy with a heart and a conscience. Kevin Costar (whom I normally do not care for too much) was simply evil. I never thought he could play a bad guy so well - but he does. I hated him by the end. :)

It isn’t as action packed as I had thought it would be throughout the movie, but the action scenes were worth the wait. They go a bit overboard with the explosions, as most movies do, but I didn’t seem to mind as much as I usually do.

If you’re looking for something a little more than fluff, yet not a deep plot, 3000 Miles to Graceland is worth a see. You have action, humor, hot guys with Elvis style sideburns and many looks at Coxs legs, etc.
