Ghost World
Starring Thora Birch as Enid, the troubled teen, who is not
quite ready to grow up, yet is grown up enough to play the game of seduction with an older man, (icky) and Scarlett Johansson as Rebecca, the sensible friend who has a better
grasp on life and reality. Brad Renfro plays Josh, a friend of the girls who is easily misguided by them and Steve Buscemi plays Seymour; the creepy older man who collects records
and finds himself seduced by Enid, only to realize he was playing a fool.
The film is well cast and acted. It is in the genre of Chasing Amy, Clerks and
Fargo. Dark humor with an artsy twist. Well worth seeing for something a little different to the run of the mill mainstream flicks.
